AdvCash Overview: About AdvCash

Before we analyze the advantages of AdvCash, I would like to briefly explain what bitcoin cards are. Bitcoin cards are probably the most convenient way to spend your bitcoins, as you can top them up with the digital currency and buy anything in the real world, or online. Cards like AdvCash are accepted just like any other debit or credit card, the merchant does not need to accept bitcoin.

AdvCash is one of the most popular cards allowing users to add funds to their debit cards using bitcoins. AdvCash stands for Advanced Cash and the company is registered in Belize. According to their website, their have licenses from the International Financial Services Commission of Belize to provide their services. You can check their licenses in this first and second link.

According to their website, their card is issued by Wave Crest Holdings with a license from MasterCard International. Wave Crest Holdings is a company registered in Gibraltar. Currently all the physical and virtual cards from AdvCash use the MasterCard logo.

How Does AdvCash Works

If you reading this AdvCash review you might not entirely know what AdvCash is or how it works exactly. AdvCash is basically a debit card provider, allowing users to add funds to their cards using a number of different methods. Among those methods, you can use Bitcoin, or other methods.

While AdvCash accepts bitcoin as a deposit method, it also accepts a number of other methods. You can also deposit funds directly from you EXMO exchange account for example.

AdvCash is pretty versatile in terms of how you can use, and for this reason, it is one of the most popular bitcoin debit cards.

How to Open an Account at AdvCash

Opening an account at AdvCash is a simple and easy procedure. All it takes is having an email address. You can also instantly get a virtual card once you open your account, which is an advantage if you want to buy something using a bitcoin card today.

As we can see from the form above, AdvCash requires just very basic information to open an account and get a bitcoin debit card.

AdvCash Verification

One of the main concerns when using bitcoin or alt coin services is privacy. One of the main advantages of using digital currencies is in fact, the low level of bureaucracy it involves. However, just like in any other Bitcoin service providers, some Bitcoin card issuers requires different levels of verification.

In the case of AdvCash, verification is optional. You may or may not verify your account depending on your needs. Non-verified accounts have lower limits to their cards, but I consider these limits quite reasonable for most types of users.

Non verified users can deposit up to $2,500 a month and $1,000 a day on their AdvCash cards. There are withdrawing limits for these accounts, up to $500 a day and $2,500 a month. For normal usage, we can conclude that verification is not really a necessity.

AdvCash Virtual Cards

Virtual cards by AdvCash are one of the fastest and easiest ways o get a bitcoin card in minutes. They are available in USD and EUR, and each user can have up to two virtual cards at AdvCash. In total each user can have four cards, 2 virtual and 2 plastic ones.

AdvCash Physical Cards

Physical cards are also an excellent choice available at AdvCash, if you want to make daily purchases like groceries, restaurants, etc. The disadvantage is that these cards are not available instantly, as you will need to wait for them by mail.

You can pay more to get your physical card shipped with express delivery, but in most cases, I believe it is better to use the normal shipping. Just like the virtual cards, the physical cards are available in USD and EUR, with a maximum of 2 per user.

AdvCash Deposit Methods

One of the biggest advantages of AdvCash is their deposit methods. For digital currencies, the best ones are using Bitcoin or your balance from some exchanges. Some of the most popular deposit methods at AdvCash are:

  • Bank Cards (Visa/MasterCard)
  • Bank Transfer (Wire/Swift/Sepa/Local Transfer (Brazil)
  • Payeer
  • BTC-E
  • QiWi Wallet

There are also some other options to deposit funds to your AdvCash account. Check their website to learn more.

AdvCash: How to Withdraw Funds

It is also possible to withdraw funds from your AdvCash account, without spending them with your card that is. The withdrawing methods available at AdvCash are as diverse as the funding methods, with a few exceptions.

AdvCash Fees

One of the main advantages of using the AdvCash card is that monthly fees are at zero dollars per month. That’s it, while most bitcoin card issuing services charge a monthly fee to keep your card active, AdvCash does not.

However, there are also a number of fees that involve using your AdvCash card. In my opinion, the most important fees while using the AdvCash coin are the ATM withdrawal fee, at $/€ 1.99. It is also important to check that their bitcoin exchange rate is acceptable to your usage.

AdvCash: Scam or Legit Debit Card

Overall AdvCash seems to be a pretty reliable company, and an excellent choice to get a hassle free bitcoin card. However, some points need to be taken into consideration.

I would add funds cautiously to your AdvCash account, and spend them as you deposit more. That is especially the case for Bitcoin funds, considering the coin fluctuations.

What is AdvCash?

Adv Cash ReviewReview

AdvCash is short for Advanced Cash and is the name of the Belize-based business behind it. The company is a daughter company to Wave Crest Holdings Limited, which is a household name in the Bitcoin debit card space. Various card companies partnered with Visa through Wave Crest. That partnership ended at the start of 2018 which left much of the competition scrambling for solutions. Surprisingly, the card provided by AdvCash is not Visa, but rather MasterCard. The main focus of the business is to accommodate freelancers and digital professionals. The map enabled their employers to pay them quickly and at a low cost.

Benefits of AdvCash

The AdvCash card features an e-wallet that makes transferring Bitcoins a fast and easy process. The business sets itself apart from the competitors by supporting a few payment services. These include OKPay and Perfect Money. AdvCash also supports SWIFT and SEPA transfers, much like your bank account does. All internal transfers are free, and there is no monthly maintenance charge. Account security is excellent, with multiple tiers of security. Lastly, Russian AdvCash users enjoy the added benefit of RUB as a supported currency.

Downsides of AdvCash

The AdvCash card, regrettably, does not include a mobile app, which is somewhat impractical. A lot of other Bitcoin card companies use an app to manage the card. The card is presently just offered to Russian and European residents, which is terrible news for the rest of us. The website does not have a whole lot of info about who is behind the company. Having some insight into the management would be helpful. Verified AdvCash users still face some limitations on purchases, although they are higher than unverified users.

AdvCash charges

Adv Cash Reviews

The physical card only costs $5 if you buy it instantly after setting up your account. The rate goes up to $15 after one week of producing your account. The virtual card costs $1. Using either card in both online and physical stores is free. It costs $1 every time you add more funds to your e-wallet. The ATM withdrawal cost for domestic ATMs is a flat rate of $2, which is cheaper than the competition. Foreign transactions and currency exchange are charged at a rate of 2.95%. There is no monthly service fee, which is quite uncommon with Bitcoin cards.

AdvCash details

  • Card type: MasterCard
  • Virtual card: Yes
  • Physical card: Yes
  • Mobile app: No
  • Supported fiat currencies: GBP, EUR, USD, and RUB
  • Supported cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC).
  • Confidential: Yes.

Summary

AdvCash has received a lot of criticism on online evaluation sites like TrustPilot, averaging about 2.5 out of five stars. AdvCash appears to be a good overall option for European and Russian users. However, the lack of reach is a disadvantage. The AdvCash card does come with some unique advantages that make up for this lack of reach, however.
