The EGR Operator Awards are like the Oscars of the online gaming industry, awarded by the E-Gaming Review magazine every year. The biggest awards include gongs for the best casino, poker, bingo, slots and mobile operator of the year. The EGR Operator Awards have been running since 2010, and here we present the list of major award winners from 2010 to date. The equivalent of the ‘Best Picture Oscar’ goes to the Game of the Year, with the Operator of the Year the other major award given out. The EGR Rising Star of the Year and Socially Responsible Operator are also much sought after acknowledgements at this glitzy awards ceremony.

William Hill, Sky Betting and bet365 all came away with two awards apiece at this year’s ceremony. Meanwhile GVC Holdings took the crown of Operator of the Year.

2017 EGR AWARD WINNERS

The winners of the EGR Operator Awards have been announced, and it’s been a good year for bet365 (again). Plus Elk Studios walk away with the prestigious Game of the Year award for Wild Toro. The new Lottery Operator of the Year Award goes to industry pace-setters Lottoland.

The 2016 EGR Award Winners included some repeat winners such as bet365 for Sports Betting Operator (for the fourth time in a row), Paddy Power for Casino Operator and PokerStars for Best Poker Operator. The big prizes went to Unibet for Operator of the Year and Guns n’Roses for Game of the Year.

2015 EGR AWARD WINNERS

At the 2015 EGR Awards, Gala Coral Interactive were the big winners for Operator of the Year, with NetEnt taking the title of EGR Game of the Year for the excellent Spinata Grande. Repeat winners included bet365 and PokerStars for Sports Betting Operator and Poker Operator respectively.

2014 EGR AWARD WINNERS

The 2014 EGR Awards were dominated by William Hill, who won the Operator of the Year and Casino Operator of the Year. Live Casino specialists Evolution Gaming won the Game of the Year Award for their Immersive Roulette.

2013 EGR AWARD WINNERS

In 2013 there is no doubt that 888.com were the big winners, taking home Operator of the Year, Poker Operator of the Year and Casino Operator of the Year in an unprecedented treble.

2012 EGR AWARD WINNERS

2012 saw Skybet crowned Operator of the Year, although William Hill were pleased to take home both the Sports Betting Operator of the Year and the Slots Operator of the Year.

2011 EGR AWARD WINNERS

In 2011 William Hill were named the Operator of the Year. The other awards were spread between different operators, with mFortune awarded the Rising Star Award.

2010 EGR AWARD WINNERS

2010 was bet365’s year, as they took home the awards for both Operator of the Year and Casino Operator of the Year. The Sports Operator Award was split between Betfair for the UK and Bwin for the rest of Europe.

Casumo is a Maltese online casino and sportsbook services company, which includes video slots, jackpot games, live casino, table games and betting. Casumo has its headquarters in Malta in Swieqi, and has additional offices in Barcelona and Gibraltar.

Background[edit]

Casumo is licensed to operate remote gaming business by the Malta Gaming Authority.^[1] In 2015, Casumo received its license^[2][3] to operate in the United Kingdom from the UK Gambling Commission. In November 2018, Casumo received its license in Sweden from the Swedish regulator, Spelinspektionen.^[4] In March 2018, Casumo agreed a deal with sportsbook supplier Kambi, to deliver a gamified sports betting product to its customers. It also opened its UK Sportsbook market in late 2019.^[5] In April 2019, Casumo received a 5-year license to operate in Denmark from the Danish gambling authority.^[6][7]

Sponsorships[edit]

Casumo had partnered with the eSports team Planet Odd^[8][9] and has also sponsored Wembley Arena^[10] where eSports events are held.

On 28 June 2019, Casumo announced a two-year principal sponsorship deal with Reading F.C.^[11]

Regulatory sanctions[edit]

On 10 May 2018 the UK Gambling commission imposed a financial penalty under section 121 of the Gambling Act at the sum of £5,850,000 on Casumo Services Limited. The fine was due to breach of Anti money laundering measures and failure to comply with social responsibility code of practice. The licensee has accepted the decision.^[19]

On 2 April 2019 Casumo was yet again hit by another regulatory imposed fine by the Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) for the amount of €310,000 for illegally targeting consumers in the Netherlands.^[20]

Casumo has generally positive reviews on Casinomeister as of 23 June 2020 with a score of 9.3/10 ^[21]
